More About SenseHydro, LLC:
SenseHydro is a group of tenth and eleventh graders determined to find effective solutions to the world’s issues through technological means. Their first invention is the hydrothermal-hat, or hydrohat – headwear made of wicking material with a wired frame. The hydrohat is engineered to prevent heatstroke and other heat-related illnesses from happening while outside enjoying the sun.
The hydrohat’s patent-pending design includes sensors that measure a user’s temperature, pulse, and acceleration to determine the user’s condition in the heat. This data is processed through a microcontroller and sent via Bluetooth to a free, downloadable phone app. The app then informs and instructs the user on a recommended plan of action with notifications like, “Go inside and drink water,” and “Dialing emergency contact, cancel within 30 sec.”
SenseHydro plans to design over 60 additional wearable technology products.
